With WebRTC Protect enabled, WebRTC is blocked by default, providing protection for your private address. However, you can temporarily enable WebRTC access using the toolbar button. Even when disabling the extension, your private address remains protected.
The extension offers several features, including the ability to configure WebRTC to not use certain IP addresses or protocols, hide your private IP address from the public internet, hide your public IP addresses associated with network interfaces, and require WebRTC traffic to go through proxy servers. Additionally, non-proxied UDP traffic is turned off if UDP is not supported.
It's important to note that enabling this extension may affect the performance of websites that rely on WebRTC for audio/video or real-time data communication. If you experience any performance issues, you can easily turn off the extension from the toolbar button to improve the performance while using WebRTC.
